Communication- Overveiw

After doing all the 3 rotation, I explored different style of communication in architecture. I have earn many beneficial technique which I would love to develop more. I was pretty enjoy while doing this course, as we got freedoms to choose different workshops that we might be interested. Also, we can manipulate the works by our own creativity. I am really appreciate the way of teaching. Although we got a great amount of homework, I gain a great sense of success after finishing the works.

In the course, I had discover that time management is really important. The works would be never finished if it was started at the night before. It is a big challenge for me to handle such a great amount of works. And I found that was pretty much the same as the situation of an architectural profession. Now, I became more confident to draw and present my works to the others. Also, I became more aware of the surrounding and I will observe them with a wider and deeper angle. This course gave me a really valuable chance to learn different skills which are very useful to my future.

Fluid Thoughts to Actions
In this workshop, we got many chances to draw with charcoal. When we were creating the drawing, we are required to observe the object with many different points of views. This workshop gave me several new directions to observe buildings. For example, we could treat the building as a transparent object and imagine the structure with a much wider way. In addition, I had learnt a more artistic way of shading the building which is really useful in sketching and enhance the visual field of my own design.

Images for ARCH 1142 Communication- Architecture In Motion

Architecture In Motion
In this workshop, we got chances to create a video which lead the audience through an imaginary spaces. We had to combine the drawing and model in order to visaulise the spaces. For me, it is a creative and innovative ways to present an architectural spaces. I learned several technique of presentation in this workshop. Furthermore, I also got the chance to practice how to visualise a space through drawing.

Atlas of Colour
In this workshop, we had learnt about the basic theory of colour and had explored different buildings which have different styles of colour tone and the reason why different colours theory is applied on the specify buildings. Furthermore, we got chances to use various type of drawing material, such as charcoal, watercolour. Through this workshop, I have learnt the method how to visaulise and enhance the building's style through colour and it is very useful for my future courses.
